A
WEEK OF EXCITEMENT,
A LIFETIME OF MEMORIES
Thunderhoops Basketball Shooting Camp is in its 20th year of operation and is one of the largest basketball day camps in Ontario. In its 19 years of operation, Thunderhoops has grown from a one- week camp of 60 campers, to a camp of three weeks, accommodating 600 campers. Thunderhoops has sold out the last 14 years in a row. Whether you are a beginner or an expert, Thunderhoops diversified program caters to the needs of all players. Paul and Marty have developed what they feel is the most efficient method of teaching young people how to shoot the basketball, and how to put them in a position to score. Improving the camper’s confidence and self esteem happens naturally through the programming at Thunderhoops. Thunderhoops has taught over 7,500 campers over the past 19 years.
Coach McCrone and Coach Hopper were honored in 2001 by the City of Orillia for their contribution to City Basketball programs. The Barrie Royals Basketball Association presented the pair with the prestigious “Kort” award, for their outstanding contribution to basketball in the City of Barrie.

"Chase your dreams, not your competition"
If you aspire to be a great shooter and excellence you seek
Sign up for Thunder Hoops to enjoy an exciting week
Since shooting is a learned skill and a practiced art
Join Paul and Marty as the basics
of good shooting they impart
It is back to the basics, techniques, follow through and grip
Go to Thunder Hoops, a special journey not just a trip
Be a master of the art of shooting with that back-spinning ball
Practice you can be the maestro at basketball’s Carnegie Hall
Hoops is a team game building friendships lasting and true
There is no shortcut to shooting excellence;
the rest is up to you
On a mission of excellence with dreams
and aspirations to unfold
A legacy of rich experiences more precious than real gold
It is the magic of Thunder Hoops and each shooting star
With those back-spinning orbs of leather swishing from afar
Dare to be a hoops dreamer as you realize
each special dream
And have fond memories as part of the Thunder Hoops team
